There are tens of thousands of skin care products on the market. It can be a daunting prospect to try and choose the right products for your skin care needs. The first step in determining which products you need should be pinning down what skin type you have. Different skin types require different types of skin care.
After that, you can break up skin care products into specific categories such as cleansing, moisturizing, anti-aging. You may prefer to separate them by body part. Since the skin covers your entire body, this might be the wisest approach. Hopefully, you’re already aware that the skincare products you use on your face will not be the same as the products you use on your hands, your feet and many places in-between.
If not, we’ll repeat the concept. It’s that important:
THE SKIN CARE PRODUCTS YOU USE ON OUR FACE WILL NOT BE THE SAME AS THE PRODUCTS YOU USE ON YOUR HANDS, YOUR FEET AND MANY PLACE IN-BETWEEN!!!!
For the face, you can use a variety of items including (but not limited to):
- cleansers (such as soaps, astringents and masks),
- exfoliators,
- toners,
- moisturizers,
- anti-aging products,
- sunscreen,
- eye creams,
- and acne prevention (and treatment) products.
Different parts of the body have different versions of creams, lotions, exfoliation treatments, cleansers and more. To fade darkened or ‘tough’ skin on the elbows and feet, you can use ‘banishing creams’, skin whiteners and something called skin crack cream. There are also a variety of cleansing techniques using products you can find around the home or in the produce section of the supermarket such as sea salt, cucumbers, oatmeal, honey and more that can create fantastic skin care treatments.
Of course, sunscreen is as important for the body as it is for the face. However, you may opt to use different SPFs for more delicate, or exposed, parts of your body than others.
Finally, the tools you’ll need to keep your skin in tip-top shape are sponges – these can be of different varieties such as loofah, pouf, etc. – body brushes, pumice stones, towels, robes and the like.
As you can see, keeping your skin in tip-top shape isn’t just a thing of vanity. The skin, as the barrier between your body and the world, must be treated well, remain protected and stay healthy. A youthful appearance isn’t the only thing you could lose if you don’t take care of your epidermis!
